A first-session plan for Save the Krusty Krab: the six stations, the shift loop, the end-of-day checklist and the five mistakes that bankrupt new crews.
Save the Krusty Krab Beginner Guide: Survive Your First Shift
Save the Krusty Krab is not a cooking game where the food is the hard part. It is a shift simulator: four players, six stations, a queue that keeps arriving, and a cash register that drains whenever a ticket is wrong, a grill catches fire or a customer walks out angry. The first session is where most crews learn that the restaurant does not fail in one big disaster — it fails in a hundred small ones.
This guide covers the first thirty minutes, the order you should learn the stations in, the end-of-day routine that most beginners skip, and the five mistakes that empty the till before Day 5. Numbers the game does not state plainly are marked as player-reported; the game is still in active development and was last updated on October 23, 2026.

The 30-Minute Plan
| Minute | Do this | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 0–3 | Take the tutorial instead of skipping to the queue | Mr. Krabs walks you through Day 1 and the floor arrows; the game does not repeat the explanations |
| 3–8 | Work Register only | Reading tickets correctly is the skill every other station depends on |
| 8–15 | Move to Assembly | You learn the ticket order without grill timers running |
| 15–22 | Try Grill with one teammate on Assembly | Fires come from leaving patties on the heat, not from flipping late |
| 22–27 | Do one full Deliver + Clean up rotation | Tips and cash only reach the till when you clear the tables |
| 27–30 | Finish the shift and read the Shift Report | The star rating tells you exactly which station lost money |
If you are playing solo, do not try to cover all six stations in one shift. Pick Register and Assembly, let the queue build, and accept a two-star night. A finished shift with a low rating pays better than a shift you abandon because the grill is on fire.
The Six Stations, Ranked by Difficulty
Every shift is the same six jobs, and they are not equally hard.
- Register. Take the order, print the ticket, hand it down the line. Easy mechanically, but one misclick sends a wrong ticket to the kitchen and the whole line builds the wrong burger.
- Assembly. Read the ticket top to bottom, place the ingredients in that order, and press Clear when the plate is right. This is the station that decides whether the crew is fast.
- Grill. Patties cook on a timer and burn if you leave them. A fire costs money, blocks the station and pulls someone off the line to fight it.
- Fryer and drinks. Coral Bits, soda and shakes have their own machines and their own queues. It is the easiest station to forget when the dining room fills up.
- Deliver. Carry the tray to the table whose order bubble matches the plate, and wait for the bubble to turn green before you hand it over. Delivering early or to the wrong table wastes the whole ticket.
- Clean up. Clear tables, collect the cash and tips left behind, empty the bins. Unglamorous, and the single most common reason a crew ends the day poor.
A good default split for four players is Register, Grill, Assembly and a floater who covers Fryer, Deliver and Clean up. The floater is not a lesser role — they are the reason the other three never have to leave their stations.
The Shift Loop, Step by Step
The loop never changes, and once you can say it out loud you can play any station.
Order in, ticket out. The customer orders at the counter. The register prints a ticket, and that ticket is the only authority on what goes on the plate. Do not build from memory, and do not build from what the customer looks like.
Cook the patty, then assemble in ticket order. The base Krabby Patty is bottom bun, cooked patty, top bun. Toppings unlock over the first days and go between the patty and the top bun, in the order printed. The recipes and orders guide breaks down the unlock order and the assembly sequence.
Serve only when the bubble is green. The customer's order bubble turns green when the plate in your hands matches their ticket. Handing over early counts as a wrong order even if the food is correct.
Collect the money. Cash and tips sit on the table after the customer leaves. If you end the shift with money still on tables, the game tells you to collect it before the day can close. This is not optional bookkeeping; it is your upgrade budget.
Close the day. Clean every station, mop the floor, wipe the tables, bag the trash and drop it in the green bin outside, then punch the gold clock on the wall to start the next day.
A two-star night with no fires is usually better than a four-star night with three wrong orders. Read the report line by line: wrong orders, fires, angry customers and unfinished rushes each cost money in a different way, and the fix for each one lives at a different station.
Energy: The Resource Nobody Watches
Your energy is the arm icon on the HUD. Sprinting, chores and getting hit by a troublemaker all drain it, and at zero you collapse and need a revive. Three ways to top up:
- The Kelp Shake machine in the restaurant, which has a cooldown between uses.
- Chocolate bars and energy items from the Night Shop, which restore a small fixed amount per use.
- Gary, whose Magic Conch can pick up a downed teammate for free. If a Gary is on the crew, save your revives.
Do not sprint across the dining room for a single table. Walking is free, and a collapsed cook during a rush costs more than the ten seconds you saved.
The Five Mistakes That Bankrupt New Crews
- Building from memory instead of the ticket. The ticket order is the recipe. Every "I know this one" burger is a potential refund.
- Leaving the grill unattended during a rush. Patties burn on a timer. If you are the only cook, cook in small batches and never walk away with food on the heat.
- Ignoring the tables. Uncollected cash and tips do not count until they are in the till, and dirty tables slow the next seating.
- Buying a character before buying capacity. A 2,500 Doubloon SpongeBob on a restaurant with one grill and two prep spots is slower than a free Fred with a second grill. Check the upgrade order before you spend.
- Fighting every troublemaker. Some of them are meant to be dodged, some are meant to be countered with an item, and one of them only shows up if your trash situation is bad. The boss guide has the day-by-day schedule.
What to Do After the First Shift
Three things, in this order. First, finish the tutorial if you skipped it — it is the only place the game explains the floor layout. Second, decide whether you are playing for stars or for cash; stars come from clean shifts, cash comes from upgrades, and the two pull in different directions early. Third, read the Night Shop stock before Day 3 ends. The shop opens after Day 3, spends restaurant cash rather than Doubloons, and rotates its stock nightly, so the first useful item you see may not be there tomorrow.
FAQ
Is Save the Krusty Krab free? Yes. The game has no gamepass. It sells one-time developer products for tier upgrades, refreshes and convenience items such as an instant clean or a revive, and every effect those products provide can also be bought with in-game cash.
How many players are on a server? Thirty, with up to four players per restaurant crew.
Can I play solo? Yes, but you will only cover two or three stations well. Solo play is a good way to learn Register and Assembly, not a good way to chase five-star shifts.
Does the game have codes? No. There is no code field and no redemption interface in the game as of October 25, 2026. The codes page explains what to do instead.
Why did my shift end with money missing? Almost always uncollected cash or tips on tables, or a wrong order that was refunded. The Shift Report lists both.
